The current eclipse season and how to navigate it…
Eclipses have traditionally been associated with doom and gloom in ancient literature and western culture. I believe this simply stems from the fact that there is a lack or a dimming of light, especially during a solar eclipse. What’s more, before widespread information was available via the internet and phones, people in remote places didn’t necessarily know that the light would return, hence the negative association with eclipses. The fear that the dimming of light could last forever lead to the association of eclipses with doom and gloom.
That said, astrologically, eclipses can still hold what could appear to be a negative effect, because one door will close. The severity of the ‘door closing event’ depends on your own astrological chart. Even though, when one door closes, another will open.
Astrologically, if the eclipse (both solar and lunar) is at the same degree as any of your natal planets, or the sun, moon or angles, the eclipse will be life-changing. If however, the eclipse is several degrees away from any major part of your own astrological chart, it is unlikely to have a major effect on your personal life.
The way to work with eclipses, be these powerful in the way described above, or less so in your own personal life is the following:
Be ready for change. Be prepared to budge; be prepared to embrace a fresh approach; be prepared to see the world in an optimistic way, even if developments appear negative.
Some sensitive people will feel the rise of their emotions or the intensity of any eclipse, and so are best to be mindful that eclipses have this effect on them for at least three days (from the day before to the day after an eclipse), depending on the sign the eclipse is in, and your own astrological chart. In the same way you may prepare for the intensity of a full moon, be prepared for a similar feeling around an eclipse.
Eclipses will also have a global effect. The eclipses will align with certain places, and due to the magnetism/gravity of the alignment, eclipses have been associated with geo-tectonic movement, king tides and turbulent weather.
To find out more about how eclipses affect you personally it’s in your interest to consult a professional astrologer. (Happy to help if you’d like a consultation: www.patsybennett.com/book-online).
If your interest is more general, consider keeping a diary of developments coinciding with eclipses, as this will be illuminating for planning your path forwards.
